All Bristol Bay salmon live a totally natural life cycle (no hatchery fish), all permit- holders in the Bristol Bay fishery (where I fish on my father’s boat) are independent fishermen (no big businesses owning multiple boats). Each salmon is hand-harvested and kept in refrigerated seawater for a few hours until they are quickly processed and flash-frozen.
